
King Von was in fact Dayvon Daquan Bennett. He was born in Chicago on August 9, 1994 to Walter and Taesha. His mother was a single parent. He had three siblings. Meanwhile, from his father , he was blessed with six half-siblings. His father spent a lot of time locked up in jail, so Bennett was mostly cared for through his maternal grandmother. He was 11 when Bennett's father was shot and killed. Bennett went on to spend his 16th year in prison. This was the beginning of a series of encounters with law enforcement. He earned college credits in the form of South Suburban College. As a way to improve himself following further legal troubles, Bennett began pursuing his professional career in music and collaborating regularly with his fellow rapper Lil Durk.Although "Welcome to O'Block" was the sole album that studio Von released during his lifetime, a posthumous album entitled "What it Means to Be King" was released posthumously in the month of March 2022.
