It was during the Montreal Olympic Games 1976 that she achieved one of the most memorable sports moments ever - - the very first perfect 10, on the bars that were asymmetrical. She then went on and scored six further flawless 10s. It made her the youngest Olympic medalist in the world at just 14 years old. Not only did Nadia Comaneci draw attention from all directions however, she also assisted in helping Romania get its place in the world map. A sports legend came into limelight after she scored an impossible number of points, thereby becoming a hero and spreading the word about gymnastics as a game throughout all over the world. The sport changed the way people view female gymnasts. The impact she had on the Olympics was so powerful that her two routines including the toe-on and the release movement have been designated in honor of her. Both of them have been classified as difficult to the highest level. Apart from the Olympics her performance also included outstanding performance in each of the World Championships & European Championships. As a result, she became an iconic gymnast as well as one of the most well-known athletes the world has ever seen.
