Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for over 20 years. She founded The Huffington Post, is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington is an author, philanthropist, television host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece she was able to move to England when she was sixteen and then completed her studies at Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. Being the first non-English-speaking student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. Following after her college graduation, she was a prominent right-wing syndicated reporter. A few more years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured criticism of the present political scene. Her fame helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna gained fame when she made the decision to contest for a non-partisan position in the California recall election to replace the Governor Davis. In addition to this she also led the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. Forbes identified her the most powerful woman in the field of media in 2009. Her ranking was in the 12th spot on Forbes' list. The Guardian added her to the top 100 list of media in 2009. AOL, Inc. named her president of their media division in 2011 following the purchased The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post was joined by additional AOL brands like Engadget, AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli has two siblings, Konstantinos Stasinopoulos as well as Elli the other, both of whom are management consultants and journalists. The way she lived her life was determined by her closeness to her mother, and the bond she shared with her father even though she was very close to the latter. In her earliest times, she demonstrated abilities to lead, and for this are still prominently known. When she was sixteen, she left America to United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. During her college days she joined the debating Society Cambridge Union where she became the third foreign, and first female president. She graduated in 1972 with an MA in Economics. In the years following her graduation, she was a critic columnist and television host. In addition, she was a part of the series Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books, utilizing editorial guidance from Bernard Levin.
